Sybase iAnywhere Delivers Advanced Wireless Email and Collaboration Support for IBM Lotus Domino 8 Print E-mail
NEW YORK, NY  — LOTUS COLLABORATION SUMMIT — SEPTEMBER 18, 2007 — Sybase iAnywhere today announced that its Information Anywhere® suite, which provides leading-edge secure wireless email and collaboration capabilities, now supports the just-launched IBM Lotus Domino 8 platform. Sybase® iAnywhere® proven mobile software has been enhanced to enable enterprises to take advantage of the latest Lotus Domino server features on Windows Mobile, Symbian and Palm OS handheld devices.

The Information Anywhere suite is a platform that addresses converging enterprise requirements for mobile email, messaging, security, device management and enterprise applications. Enhancements for Lotus Domino 8 support include: the ability to take a photo on a mobile device, attach it to a contact and synchronize information so it appears in the Lotus Address Book; and new calendaring functionality that shows "tentative" meetings on a calendar that can be pushed to a mobile device. In addition, the mobile instant messaging client provides enhanced integration with Sybase wireless email and security components for optimized battery performance and enhanced usability.

“This announcement further highlights the strong relationship that Sybase iAnywhere has with the IBM Lotus team,” said Mark Willnerd, vice president, Sybase iAnywhere. “We are pleased to offer tighter integration and optimized solutions for our customers that are mobilizing Lotus Domino email and applications with Information Anywhere suite.”

“Lotus Notes and Domino 8 provide state of the art collaborative solutions to businesses around the world,” said Shawne Robinson, product manager Lotus Domino mobile and wireless solutions, IBM Lotus. “Sybase’s always available capabilities are a natural complement to the robust infrastructure of Lotus Domino and we are pleased to deliver this powerful combination of products based upon Lotus Domino 8.”

“The new features in Lotus Domino 8 software will help the mobile enterprise be even more efficient,” said Robert Spaltenstein, Head of GroupWare, Allianz Suisse. “We’re excited to see that Sybase iAnywhere is offering support for the latest version of Lotus Domino software. This will help us migrate to the new Lotus Domino version even faster.”
