Motorola Expands Relationship with Qualcomm to Include Next Generation UMTS 3G Chipsets |

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. January 23, 2008 – Motorola, Inc. today
announced that the company is
broadening its relationship with Qualcomm
Incorporated, a leading developer and innovator of
advanced wireless technologies and data solutions. Motorola intends to
design Qualcomm chipsets into certain UMTS 3G handsets beginning at the
end of 2008 and in 2009. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“Qualcomm
is a valued supplier and I am excited about the UMTS opportunities we
are pursuing together,” said Alain Mutricy, senior vice president,
platform technology, Motorola’s Mobile Devices business. “This
agreement represents a further step in the execution of our silicon
strategy.”
