DUBLIN, Calif. April 14, 2008 — Sybase iAnywhere today announced the beta availability of
“Panorama,” code-name for the next release of ,
its market-leading data management and synchronization solution. Over
200 new features have been added to SQL Anywhere that further enhance
its leadership in enabling frontline database applications. Today, SQL
Anywhere powers thousands of embedded and mobile database applications
with over 10 million deployed licenses. SQL Anywhere innovation
continues to provide improved performance, reliability, scalability and
functionality to applications ranging from workgroup and branch office
systems to mobile applications used by sales people and service

SQL Anywhere version 11 includes over 200 new features and
enhancements based on extensive feedback from embedded partners and

Anywhere continues to provide new and innovative functionality in the
delivery of information beyond the traditional data center.

- Enhanced parallel query capabilities –
includes parallel sort, parallel index scans and index-only retrieval
to make the most of today’s laptop, desktop, and server machines
- Embedded full-text search
- provides a powerful yet compact facility to effectively search the
ever increasing amounts of unstructured data in the front lines
- New data synchronization options
- builds on our rich, heterogeneous synchronization platform with the
addition of new failover and load balancing options, background
synchronization, and support for MySQL
- .NET and Perl stored procedures – ensures developers can leverage their programming language experience to implement database business logic
