released WebSphere Premises Server 6.1. The Intermec IF61 is the first

The IF61 Smart Reader can host distributed applications empowering
customers to deploy RFID without an expensive, stand-alone middleware
PC or separate controller device for each RFID reader or each physical
location. The combination of the IF61 and WebSphere Premises Server
provides a scalable, reliable platform for implementing new business
solutions with a lower total cost of ownership.
