RICHARDSON, Tx. June 2, 2008 -- GlobeRanger, a leading global provider of end-to-end
enterprise
solutions and professional services for RFID, mobility and sensor-based
solutions, today announced the release of Smart Network Appliance
Product (SNAP). SNAP provides a rich run-time platform to support
various edge applications that can be bundled within the appliance.
Built on the robust and field-proven components of GlobeRanger’s
iMotion platform, SNAP is designed to make “life
easier for network managers and application developers.”
Edge process management and remote management are essential components
of multi-site RFID deployments. SNAP provides comprehensive workflow and
process management support at the edge of enterprise as opposed to
merely routing data to back-end systems. SNAP installations can be
managed remotely, enabling companies to efficiently configure and update
applications instantly across their networks. SNAP also connects easily
with back-end enterprise systems, enabling easier growth and scaling
without having to deploy a hierarchy of appliances that require
extensive scripting to make changes.
“Feedback from clients in the industry
suggests there is a real need for a proven product to address easy
deployment of edge applications,” said Louis
Bianchin, Senior RFID Research Analyst at Venture Development
Corporation (VDC). “As customers consider
multi-site deployments to support various RFID applications, this
appliance could be a very valuable tool for network managers and
application developers facing the integration of heterogeneous devices.”
"We are pleased to announce the market release of SNAP,”
said Baldev Nair, Vice-President, Marketing and Product Management at
GlobeRanger. “SNAP is the perfect product for
initial pilots on tight budgets, deployments involving fixed and basic
process flows, and rollouts involving large number of end-points with
limited IT support.”
General market availability for SNAP is 3Q08 at a list price of $14,900.
