Kuwait’s leading mobile operator chooses MobileKeeper Backup & Restore Print E-mail
BRAGA, Portugal / Kuwait  June 23, 2008 -– Zain in Kuwait has gone live with MobiComp’s MobileKeeper

Backup & Restore product.

Backup & Restore solves a major headache for users by protecting all their personal data should their mobile device be lost or stolen. With handsets becoming increasingly sophisticated, the platform offers one of the most comprehensive “over the air” back up and restore system in the marketplace today, with the ability to protect any kind of data held on a mobile device - from contacts, texts, photos, videos, music, bookmarks, ring tones and calendars, to business applications like Microsoft Word and Excel.

The backup takes place automatically, so that data can be easily recovered if the mobile device is damaged, lost or stolen.

Zain holds 57 per cent of the domestic Kuwait customer mobile market and will be offering the service to selected users. “We were extremely impressed by the high levels of service that MobiComp were able to offer us,” said Mohammed Al Shehab, Chief Commercial Officer of Zain in Kuwait. “We see this service as a key competitive differentiator and something which users will find highly desirable.”

Another reason for choosing MobiComp was the established success of MobileKeeper with neighbouring operators. Recent customers include Syriatel, Saudi Telecom, and Yemen operators – Sabafon, Yemen Mobile, and MTN (through Hi-Tec in Yemen).

Bassam Hammad, MobiComp’s Director of Sales for MEA, said:  “From day one, Zain shared our passion for delivering the types of services that we know users want. We are delighted to be working with this forward-thinking operator and hope to do more business with the group in the very near future.”

MobileKeeper is a client/server platform based on open standards that supports a variety of device clients for Symbian S60/S80/UIQ, SIMCards, J2ME and Windows Mobile Smartphone.
