RESTON, Va. / TORONTO, Ont. June 24, 2008 -- KORE Telematics, one of the world’s
largest
digital
wireless services provider specializing in
machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced Edward Bursk as
the company’s chief marketing officer. Bursk
brings more than 20 years of leadership in developing new and emerging
telecommunications markets and will lead all of KORE’s
strategic marketing and go-to-market activities, including a heightened
focus on expansion in key, high-growth market segments:Federal and State government, Utilities, Security and Payment Processing.
“Ed brings a wealth of directly relevant
experience in the creation and integration of highly effective
communications and business development strategies, to drive rapid
adoption of emerging data networking solutions,”
said Alex Brisbourne, president and chief operating officer, KORE. “This
hard-won experience is particularly relevant to the M2M market where,
while user adoption is accelerating rapidly, the message to the market
must be moved from the generic to one tailored to the particular needs
and terminology of each customer segment. With his extensive marketing,
business development and alliance experience, Ed is ideally suited to
help KORE develop the unique solutions and messages that make the
difference for our customers.”
Prior to joining KORE, Bursk was chief marketing officer for
Alcatel-Lucent’s government subsidiary (LGS)
where he was responsible for furthering Alcatel-Lucent’s
growth in service and product penetration through the development of
long term, unified partnerships with leading integrators.
“I am thrilled to join KORE at such an
exciting time of growth, both in the company and in the nascent M2M
market,” said Bursk. “At
KORE, we are uniquely poised to accelerate growth in the overall market,
and in key customer segments, for one simple reason. Our innovations in
service, management and billing, coupled with the most comprehensive and
skilled network of application partners, is completely dedicated to
delivering the most reliable and relevant M2M solutions for our
customers, every day.”
Prior to LGS, Bursk held increasingly senior executive, marketing and
business development positions within the networking and
telecommunications industry, at both startups and large companies. Past
roles include chief marketing officer for Invertix, a pioneering
provider of integrated Messaging, Presence and Location service delivery
platforms for the wireless industry; vice president of marketing for
Datametrics Systems, the first provider of Performance Management tools
for the Linux market; and vice president of corporate marketing strategy
