arm of Telit Communications, today announced that its GE863-QUAD machine-to-machine (M2M) communications module earned certification for use on the Vivo GSM/GPRS cellular network. Vivo, controlled by Spain-based Telefónica and Portugal Telecom, is the largest network in Brazil with coverage in over 2,900 cities in the country.

The GE863-QUAD is a quad-band enabled module that can be used anywhere in the world. The module, which measures only 41.1 x 31.4 x 3.6 mm and weighs just 9 grams, is rugged and durable, able to withstand extreme temperatures from -30° C to + 80° C. Additionally, the GE863-QUAD is equipped with versatile Ball Grid Array (BGA) assembly concept.
