Qualcomm Appoints John Stefanac Vice President and President of Qualcomm Southeast Asia/Pacific |

HONG KONG, China
July 8, 2008 -- Qualcomm
Incorporated today announced its
appointment of
John Stefanac as vice president and president of
Qualcomm Southeast Asia/Pacific. In this role, Stefanac will oversee
the execution of Qualcomm's market strategies and manage the Company's
business operations throughout the region.
“John's successful track record working with operators and equipment
manufacturers made him an ideal choice to drive Qualcomm's growth
across this part of the world,” said Jing Wang, executive vice
president of Qualcomm Asia Pacific and Middle East/Africa. “Southeast
Asia/Pacific is among the world's most dynamic 3G service markets and
with John's leadership, Qualcomm will continue to broaden its regional
presence and to engage new business opportunities as the market grows.”
Stefanac has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications
and information technologies industries. He joins Qualcomm from Nokia
Siemens Networks where as vice president and general manager of
Asia/Pacific, he led the company's regional marketing and sales
efforts. Previously, he served as vice president of sales and business
development Asia/Pacific for Flextronics Network Services in Singapore.
Stefanac also spent more than 10 years in leadership positions at
Lucent Technologies/AT&T in Australia and Singapore, managing the
company's in-country sales of optical networking equipment, wireless
and broadband systems and software products to service providers.
Stefanac earned a Master's of Business Administration from Henley School of Management (UK).
