LITTLE ROCK, Ark. July 17, 2008 -- When customers want to share their camera phone photos with the
world,
Alltel Wireless, America’s largest network,
has provided the solution with the launch of MyShow, the first
user-generated mobile slideshow application. MyShow, enables customers
the ability to become social media publishers with a few simple clicks
to create custom slideshows that showcase their phone’s
photos of choice. Alltel is the first North American wireless carrier to
offer the MyShow application.
MyShow delivers end-to-end integration between the mobile device and the
Web, allowing customers to browse, create and instantly share all the
special moments captured on their phone’s
camera. The application automatically composes slideshows that can be
personalized with text and background music. Users can upload their
slideshows to MyShow’s companion Web site http://myshow.funmo.com
as well as embed the MyShow “widget”
and broadcast slideshows on popular social networking sites. MyShow also
allows users to view, rate and comment on slideshows created by other
subscribers. The application is now available through Alltel Shop for
$3.99 per month.
“For customers looking for an easy way to
share their photos with friends and family, MyShow delivers the ultimate
slideshow tool,” said Kristi Crum, director
of multimedia content for Alltel Wireless. “MyShow
is another example of Alltel delivering tools and applications that
enable our customers to get the most out of their phone and personalize
their wireless experience.”
The launch of MyShow is a great addition to Alltel’s
extensive photo product portfolio. Earlier this year, Alltel launched
Alltel Pic Transfer, formally known as PhotoCopter, an application that
automatically uploads photos taken on the phone to the customers’
PC or their favorite social media sites. Alltel also offers Kodak Mobile
Link, enabling wireless customers to see photos on their phone and
upload to their personal online Kodak Gallery; and Fujifilm Mobile
Postcards, which allows users to share a personal photo greeting and
message with anyone through the U.S. mail.
