BERKELEY, Calif. July 29, 2008 -- Apisphere Inc.,
a leading provider of location-awareness services
for mobile business
applications, today announced it will be integrating location-aware
field force automation capabilities with iCOMM’s
infrastructure asset management software, which provides proactive
monitoring, maintenance and support capabilities for water distribution
and sanitary system infrastructures as well as other public works
assets. Customers will see immediate return-on-investment (ROI) in the
form of faster response times and lower fuel expenditures thanks to the
more efficient deployment of service vehicles and crews.
ICOMMM’s technology is used to assess
maintenance and capital improvements requirements and helps to protect
water and sanitary system infrastructure while preventing environmental
damage. It is fully integrated with geographical information systems
(GIS) and ties in mapping with work management tools. Apisphere’s Geo-Enabled Mobility (GEM)
platform will be integrated with ICOMMM’s
infrastructure asset management software to enhance its
location-awareness capabilities. Apisphere will enhance field force
automation and efficiency by providing targeted geographical information
in real-time, helping maintenance crews to immediately access specific
relevant information when assessing infrastructure requirements.
“Our utility customers require accurate,
immediate data to maintain water and sanitary systems, and to quickly
respond to service calls and emergency situations,”
said Steven Line, CEO of ICOMMM. “Apisphere’s
ability to integrate real-time location-awareness capabilities into our
solution enables ICOMMM to significantly enhance the precision of the
information we provide to our customers and help them to more
efficiently manage service, maintenance and repair resources.”
Apisphere’s GEM platform will also provide
ICOMMM’s customers with real-time navigation
capabilities including directions to service stops, route optimization,
mobile resource location and tracking, and will automate work
assignments based on where available resources are located. This will
significantly reduce maintenance vehicle road miles and subsequent fuel
consumption therefore enabling water and sanitary utilities to better
control costs.
“Real-time location-awareness capabilities
are essential in the management of any mobile workforce,”
said Craig Harper, CEO, Apisphere. “By
providing utility customers with the ability to make quick decisions on
how to deploy mobile field reps with accurate, timely information that
is specific to the location in question, ICOMMM is elevating its
customers’ experience and enhancing the
efficiency of its business.”
