HONOLULU, Hawaii July 29, 2008 -- Hawaiian Telecom announced today
that Geoffrey Loui, Michael
Edl and William Chung have joined the company’s
senior management team.
Loui will serve as Senior Vice President of Strategy & Marketing, Edl
will serve as Senior Vice President of Network Services, and Chung will
be Vice President of Human Resources & Labor Relations.

leading telecommunications provider.”
In his new position, Loui will be in charge of strategic planning,
marketing, growth initiatives, product development, operations
integration and process improvement.
Loui, a graduate of Punahou School, returns to Honolulu after serving
most recently as Director of Strategy & Operations since 2005 at
Archstone Consulting, a San Francisco-based consultancy that provides
advisory services to a variety of industries including technology and
consumer-product companies. Prior to that, Loui was Director of
Operations at Boeing Satellite Systems, where he worked for 12 years.
Earlier, he was a lead engineer at Santa Barbara Research Center.

As Senior Vice President of Network Services, Edl will oversee several
functions, including engineering, planning and construction; network
reliability; field operations; operations support; and provisioning.
Edl, who has more than 30 years of experience in telecommunications
operations, most recently served as Senior Vice President of Network
Operations at Paetec, a New York-based telecommunications company.
Earlier, he held senior management positions with McLeod USA, TDS
Telecom and MCI Telecommunications.

In his role as Vice President of Human Resources & Labor Relations,
Chung will oversee compensation, benefits, training & development and
labor relations.

of expertise to Hawaiian Telcom, given his rich experience not only in
human resources and labor relations but also in regulated industries,”
said Yeaman.
Chung comes to Hawaiian Telcom with 20 years of experience in human
resources. Most recently, he was Vice President of Human Resources &
Labor Relations at Hawaiian Tug & Barge/Young Brothers Ltd., where he
had worked since 1990. Before that, Chung served as Director of Labor
Relations at Hawaiian Electric Co. for three years. Earlier in his
career, Chung held engineering positions with Hawaiian Electric and the
U.S. Civil Service – Naval Shipyard at Pearl
Harbor and is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy.
