Cascada Mobile Partners with DeviceAnywhere for Live Mobile Application Testing Print E-mail
TORONTO, Ont. / SAN MATEO, CALIF.  Aug. 5, 2008 -- Cascada Mobile, developer of the Breeze

platform, the simplest way to create, test and distribute applications to mobile phones anywhere in the world, today announced a partnership with DeviceAnywhere to expand the testing environment available to developers using Breeze to create mobile applications. Under this agreement Cascada is now the newest member of the DeviceAnywhere Connect (DAC) partner program.

DeviceAnywhere is a revolutionary online service that provides access to 1,500 real handsets, on live worldwide mobile networks, remotely over the Internet, meeting all development, porting, testing and monitoring needs. Unlike emulator/simulator-based solutions, DeviceAnywhere employs real, physical handsets so, anything that a user can do with a device in their hand, they can do with the handsets in DeviceAnywhere in real-time. This includes tasks such as pressing device buttons, tapping on touch screens, connecting/disconnecting the battery, viewing the LCD, listening to ringers and speakers, and opening/closing a handset. Cost-effective and efficient, DeviceAnywhere eliminates the burden of manual testing and the high costs of acquiring handsets and service plans, enabling developers to bring content to market faster than ever before. As a DAC partner, Cascadas users will have the opportunity to take advantage of these solutions at a discounted rate.

Because of the complexities involved, testing is one of the critical areas that has limited the development of mobile applications, said Alan Lysne, CEO of Cascada Mobile. Partnering with DeviceAnywhere gives developers using the Breeze platform even more testing options as they develop and fine-tune their mobile applications. While Cascada Mobile ports all mobile applications submitted by users, DeviceAnywhere allows our users go one step further to see firsthand exactly how their mobile apps look and function on mobile devices and wireless networks around the world.

Through this partnership, mobile developers using Cascadas Breeze Platform get five free hours of testing with DeviceAnywhere. To use DeviceAnywhere, users simply enter a promotion code provided by Cascada, log into their DeviceAnywhere account, and click on the Launch DeviceAnywhere Studio link to get started.

Todays mobile application developer is faced with the challenge of creating and testing applications that work on thousands of devices and with so many handsets in todays mobile marketplace, time is of the essence, said Faraz Syed, CEO of DeviceAnywhere. By joining forces with DeviceAnywhere Connect (DAC), partners like Cascada are able to offer developers the opportunity to combine Cascadas Breeze platform with DeviceAnywheres award-winning solutions to create the fastest, most efficient means through which to develop J2ME applications on real, physical devices.

By using Cascada Mobiles Breeze platform, even the most novice HTML and JavaScript programmers can create innovative mobile applications in J2ME the most widely used mobile programming language. The free Breeze platform eliminates the enormous complexities of writing and testing mobile applications for thousands of different handset models and provides developers a one-stop-shop for distributing them across hundreds of wireless operators worldwide. Breeze developers receive a simple line of code they can put on their websites, blogs or social network pages allowing people to download their application merely by entering a mobile phone number. Breeze also takes care of distribution via SMS, WAP Push and direct download from a mobile phone, ensuring the right version of the application is sent to each end users phone.
