TraceSecurity & Wescom Resources Group Announce Partnership to Provide Added Online Banking Security Print E-mail
BATON ROUGE, La. / PASADENA, Calif.  Aug 11, 2008 -- TraceSecurity, a leading provider of SaaS

security compliance and risk management solutions, and Wescom Resources Group (WRG), a provider of technology solutions for credit unions, announced today a joint partnership to provide external penetration testing to new WRG clients who deploy the MemberEdge Online Banking system. TraceSecurity's external penetration testing is an extra precautionary tool for credit unions' online banking security as well as another measure to protect credit union members from identity theft.

"Security and identity theft is a top of mind concern for credit unions when launching a new online banking service. By offering TraceSecurity's penetration testing as a standard component of our solution, we provide clients additional peace of mind, and give them something they would have to source out elsewhere," said John Best, chief technology officer for WRG. "We have always been confident about the security of our online banking products and the partnership with TraceSecurity just reinforces our dedication to safe, reliable online banking."

TraceSecurity's external penetration testing simulates real, live, malicious attacks to expose potential vulnerabilities in the financial institution's network and online banking system before the system goes live. Exposing vulnerabilities allows security holes -- if any -- to be identified and fixed before a real malicious attack could happen, thus giving financial institutions an added layer of protection in their online banking.

"TraceSecurity has a long standing relationship with WRG and Wescom Credit Union, so it was natural to build a partnership where we could help enhance the security of their online banking services with our external penetration testing," said Jim Stickley, chief technology officer of TraceSecurity. "Data breaches and identity theft can be devastating to a credit union and its members. I am pleased to see that WRG takes these threats seriously and is proactively protecting their customer's interests through these tests."
