Nortel Appoints Ray Teske as New President of Japan Print E-mail
TOKYO, Japan  Aug. 14, 2008 -– Nortel has appointed Ray Teske as its new president, Japan, effective

August 18.

Teske's new position includes responsibility for sales, operations and marketing for the Japanese market. Teske, formerly Global Accounts leader for Nortel Asia Pacific and Greater China, will replace Toshiyuki Hiramatsu, who will become the chairman of Nortel Japan and continue to support the company's business and customer base in the country. Teske will be based in Tokyo.

"Ray has extensive experience in leadership roles in sales and marketing, and an in-depth knowledge of the enterprise and carrier markets across Asia gained through more than 20 years in the IT industry," said François Lançon, president, Asia Pacific, Nortel. "He has the credentials and broad industry experience to ensure success in this role, as Nortel's business transformation accelerates in Japan. A proven leader, Teske's past experience with Nortel includes sales and technology leadership across the Enterprise, Optical and Carrier Solution business units in both South East Asia and Japan, where he previously led the Metro Optical business as marketing leader with several major carriers. Prior to joining Nortel, Teske gained extensive experience in the computer and networking industry through companies such as Telematics Co., Ltd in Thailand, as well as working as a IT consultant for government and non-government bodies such as The Canadian International Development Agency, and The United Nations Development Program on IT strategies across Southeast Asia.
