MILPITAS, Calif. Aug. 19, 2008 -- Array Networks Inc., a
leading provider of optimized and secure
universal access solutions,
today announced that its SPX Series SSL VPN now supports Layer 3 VPN for Windows Mobile devices.
Array’s SPX Series is the first SSL VPN to
enable enterprises to meet the growing need for streamlined, portable
access to business-critical applications. Initial support includes
Windows Mobile 5 & 6 as well as popular devices such as Palm Trio,
Motorola Q and HP iPaq.
“SSL VPN vendors largely have ignored the
handheld market. It's time for competitive vendors to understand and
directly address the business value proposition for highly mobile users
by introducing better handheld clients and strong value case studies,”
said John Girard of Gartner in a December 2007 research note “Magic
Quadrant for SSL VPN, North America, 3Q07.”
“Due to overwhelming customer requests, we
have enhanced our smart phone and PDA support for Layer 3 access. Layer
3 VPN for Windows Mobile is particularly important for enterprises that
wish to standardize on commercially available mobile devices,”
said Sunil Cherian, VP of Product Marketing for Array Networks. “This
latest capability rounds Array’s
industry-leading Layer 3 SSL VPN solution, which features support for
Windows Vista and IE7, without the need for pre-installed client
software.”
In addition, Array is the first SSL VPN vendor to provide a site-to-site
solution featuring its unique, patent-pending Resource Publishing™
feature, as well as the first to offer DesktopDirect a streamlined
appliance-based solution for remote desktop access. The SPX Series
delivers industry-leading performance and scalability spanning up to
64,000 concurrent users with single digit latency response times.
Array’s enhanced SPX software for Windows
Mobile is available in August 2008.
