Nollec Selects Red Bend for Mobile Software Management Print E-mail
BEIJING, China  Sept. 3, 2008 -- Red Bend Software, a market leader in Mobile Software Management

(MSM), today announced it has signed an agreement with Nollec, a leading provider of wireless terminal solutions and a top handset manufacturer in China. Nollec has licensed Red Bend's vDirect Mobile™ device management software for remote configuration, provisioning and updating of mobile devices, and vCurrent® Mobile software for firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates. Nollec is the 12th Chinese handset manufacturer to embed Red Bend's software in mobile devices.

"Over-the-air software management is becoming a required feature for mobile phone manufacturers and operators in order to provide consumers with a rich mobile user experience," said CEO Simon Sun of Nollec. "We selected Red Bend for its compliance to industry standards, global leadership in software management and proven performance with high-end devices."

Red Bend's award-winning MSM solutions, compatible with more than 40 mobile platforms, have shipped in 365 million devices worldwide, including mobile phones, mobile broadband PC cards and machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless modules. vCurrent Mobile enables operators and manufacturers to deliver software improvements to mobile devices in consumers' hands. vCurrent Mobile is the first FOTA solution to update mobile firmware in the background while consumers are using their phones. vDirect Mobile is a device management (DM) client that is interoperable with standards-based DM servers from 10 vendors. The software enables operators and manufacturers to easily provision new subscribers and configure applications and network settings.

In a separate news release today, Red Bend also announced a licensing agreement with Lenovo Mobile, the top domestic brand handset manufacturer in China.
