InnoPath Delivers Mobile Device Management Client on Casio G’zOne Print E-mail
SUNNYVALE, Calif.  Sept. 16, 2008 -- InnoPath Software, a leader in Mobile Device Management

(MDM), has extended its reach with OMA-DM client support on the Casio G’zOne Boulder. The G’zOne, recently launched into the North American market, is a ruggedized, field-force optimized phone with CDMA/EVDO, video, GPS, and push-to-talk capabilities. The InnoPath client, coupled with the company’s server at the wireless operator, helps avoid device recalls and provides a better end-user experience with Firmware updates Over The Air (FOTA).

FOTA, a relatively new technology for North American operators, allows the update of firmware on devices such as mobile phones deployed in the field. In the past, firmware updates needed to be done by re-flashing the device at a retail store or service center. Because FOTA allows operators to upgrade features or patch firmware without needing to physically touch or recall the device, this technology is increasingly popular with operators trying to deliver the best possible subscriber experience. Indeed, some operators have mandated that all new phones ship with FOTA capability.Casio G'zOne Boulder

“As mobile devices continue to increase in complexity, the cost of customer care’s impact on operators’ bottom line will grow just as quickly. This means that now is the time for them to implement MDM and re-invent their frontline customer care,” stated David Ginsburg, vice president of Marketing for InnoPath. “The ROI for MDM in support of customer care has been validated by analyst firms like Stratecast and represents immediate cost savings in the billions by 2009. InnoPath’s end-to-end MDM solution is key to this evolution of wireless operators’ customer care organizations.”
