m2mGlobal® Alliance to Provide Seamless Worldwide M2M Connectivity Solutions Print E-mail
RESTON, Va.  Sept. 24, 2008 -- The m2mGlobal Alliance, a network of international specialized

regional machine-to-machine (M2M) service providers focused on delivering national network services across the globe, today announced the formation of its global M2M wireless network. Comprised of dedicated M2M network providers located in North America, Australia, UK, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, the m2mGlobal Alliance provides a unified, seamless network for delivering M2M applications across the globe. Founder members are KORE Telematics Inc, Wireless Maingate AB, Mach Communications Pty Ltd and Vianet Ltd.

Going global calls for highly reliable, direct operator connect digital M2M network services in leading worldwide markets. To date, accessing many overseas markets has meant either the use of roaming-based services with long-term serviceability and tariff considerations, or individual negotiation with multiple local service provider agreements, each with varying commercial terms, commitments and service levels. The m2mGlobal Alliance will provide the transparent delivery of GSM M2M connectivity solutions in world markets, enabling application service providers to reliably and cost effectively offer M2M applications through many parts of the world.

“M2M applications are now becoming increasingly important to the ongoing activities of user companies and there is growing need to use these internationally. As a result, global service with local customer support is the new mantra,” explains Robin Duke-Woolley, CEO of international analyst firm Beecham Research Ltd that specializes in the M2M services business. “Global service with local support combines the reach and low cost point required with the need for rapid response to what are often critical applications. This excellent initiative by KORE and its partners aims to satisfy many concerns that international companies have with extending their use of M2M and is a welcome development for this market.”

“The m2mGlobal Alliance was created to help global M2M application providers more quickly and cost effectively expand their services overseas,” said Alex Brisbourne, president and COO, KORE Telematics, a founding member of the m2mGlobal Alliance. “M2M applications are being adopted across the globe by a number of different vertical markets to better monitor assets and improve processes. With the m2mGlobal Alliance, M2M application providers can ensure that their customers will have access to reliable wireless network coverage across the globe.”

“Australian companies are always looking for better ways to market overseas. The m2mGlobal Alliance is an ideal way for our customers seeking to establish their services internationally,” says Shane Murphy, CEO of Mach Communications Pty Ltd.

Previously, M2M application providers had to secure multiple, often complex or costly, relationships with regional wireless network providers in order to power their applications in global markets. Application service providers can now eliminate this cumbersome process by working with one local M2M network provider – in their own time zone offering a single point of contact, interface, service level and invoice for the delivery of their applications across the globe. This drastically simplifies the global expansion process for any M2M application provider.

For American Trash Management, a leading provider of sophisticated, cost-saving trash management products and services to public and private sector organizations, the m2mGlobal Alliance offers a one-stop global solution for its products in North American, Australian and European markets, without the risks associated with roaming.

“We can build out our entire suite of SmartTrash™ management solutions and deploy them in many countries simultaneously, reducing our time to market and lowering our operational risk when bringing our products to new markets,” said Scott Brown, president of American Trash Management. “We look forward to working with the m2mGlobal Alliance as we expand our global footprint.”

The m2mGlobal Alliance Founding Membership is comprised of the following M2M network providers:

  2. Mach Communications Pty Ltd (www.machcommunications.com.au)

KORE Telematics and Worldwide Partners Combine to Form the m2mGlobal® Alliance - Providing Seamless Worldwide M2M Connectivity Solutions

RESTON, Va.  Sept. 24, 2008 -- KORE Telematics today announced the launch of the m2mGlobal Alliance, addressing the needs of North American companies and ASP’s to immediately expand their business in overseas markets previously only available through roaming or expensive-to-support individual agreements in expanded international markets.

“Our customers have increasingly been asking for the ability to service their customers as they expand from their domestic base,” commented Alex Brisbourne, president and COO for KORE Telematics. “We examined their needs closely and concluded that the ability to provide focused, dedicated, M2M services in overseas markets needed both Direct Connect carrier service delivery and local 24/7 system support. Technical and support competency, cost effectiveness and local service capability are keys to the success of M2M services, which can eliminate risks for ASP’s and Enterprises alike as these services must be sustainable and reliable over perhaps 5 to 7 year life cycles. Through the m2mGlobal Alliance, our customers benefit from one-stop support, proven capability, consistent platforms and a great service price,” concluded Brisbourne.

The m2mGlobal Alliance, founded in conjunction with leading M2M providers in markets from Europe to Australasia, harnesses the skills and long-term relationships of specialized organizations able to deliver a broad set of GSM services in world markets. KORE, as a pioneer in the digital M2M market, worked closely over more than a year with other leading organizations before launching this new service capability.

“Providing one service, with a single price book, and single support point, through a common gateway platform – PRISM™ – in many world markets is, we believe, a most compelling alternative to roam-only solutions currently available with their risk of disruption over long M2M lifecycles,” commented Brisbourne.

Available with immediate effect, KORE customers may deliver service in a number of markets overseas with all the benefits of local service and support. International customers may enjoy all the benefits of the KORE portfolio of services in the North American market, without needing to deal with time zone or other support concerns.

In addition to the markets already served through Direct Connect relationships in USA and Canada, to this are added 11 further local markets (in addition to more than 135 roaming countries supported by KORE) including United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Australia and New Zealand.
