SAN MATEO, Calif. Oct. 7, 2008 -- Glu Mobile Inc., a leading global publisher of mobile
games, today
announced the launch of one of America’s
favorite game shows, Family Feud®, for
mobile phones throughout North America. Family Feud is the first
title developed and published by Glu through their partnership with
FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), the brand extension arm for
FremantleMedia, one of the largest international creators and producers
of entertainment brands in the world.
“We are thrilled to join forces with FME to
bring ‘Family Feud’
to mobile phones,” said Jill Braff, senior
vice president of global publishing, Glu. “We
look forward to providing fans with a fun and engaging game that matches
the excitement of the show they know and love.”
Family Feud is one of the most well-known and longest-running
game shows on television, with over 1.5 million daily viewers. Local
versions of the show have aired in more than 45 countries since its
launch in 1976, making it one of the most successful game show formats
in the world. Hosted by John O’Hurley in the
U.S., the format pits families against each other to answer questions
based on surveys of 100 people.
“Glu has a history of demonstrated success
bringing world-class brands to the mobile platform,”
said Olivier Delfosse, director of interactive licensing and new media
for FME in North America. “And now, the Glu
team has brought Family Feud to life through an unmatched,
quality gameplay. We are excited to provide loyal fans with a mobile
game so that they can now experience one of their favorite shows
anywhere they go.”
Features include:
- Faithful reproduction of the on-air show: Including the Fast
Money round and music from the show.
- Surveys from the network: Questions are constantly being
updated, so players will never answer the same survey twice.
- Ability to create your own look: Use the player designer and
enter your own family name to customize the game play experience.
Family Feud for mobile is now available on all major carriers in
North America.
