BEIJING, China Oct. 20, 2008 -- SEVEN®, a global
market leader in push email and mobile messaging
software, today
announced China Unicom’s launch of Unicom Push
Mail powered by SEVEN. China Unicom will demonstrate Unicom Push Mail at their booth
during Expo Comm China 2008. SEVEN established a local network
operations center (NOC), to support China Unicom and demonstrate the
company’s commitment to the Chinese business
market.
China is the third largest mobile data market according to a recent
study of over 40 major countries by the Chetan Sharma Consulting Group.
SEVEN is the only foreign mobile email provider to address this growing
market by establishing a NOC in China. The local NOC mitigates security
concerns because no messages will be relayed outside China to another
country. SEVEN also plans further investment in China through expansion
of its research and design center in Hangzhou.
China Unicom selected System SEVEN for Unicom Push Mail to provide their
subscribers with the most reliable mobile email experience across a wide
range of devices. SEVEN’s mobile messaging and
email offers a best in class mobile messaging experience for business
and consumer users, and support for more than 340 mobile devices across
all the major operating systems including Windows Mobile, Brew, J2ME,
Symbian and Palm OS. Leveraging SEVEN’s global
mobile messaging expertise, Unicom Push Mail addresses the needs
of the Chinese mobile user through:
-
The ability to manage business email, contacts and calendar
information for Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino, and access top
internet and Chinese email providers including: 133sh, Sina, Sohu,
163, 126, 21cn, 139, QQ and Google Mail.
-
Improved support for Chinese input and writing with a wide choice of
devices including touch screen devices
-
Easy setup: users access the Unicom Push Email service on their
device, enter their email address and password –
and will then have instant real-time access to mobile email
“Making mobile email accessible to everyone
worldwide has been a long-term goal for SEVEN,”
said Ross Bott, president and CEO of SEVEN. “We
have been striving to improve access to mobile email, both
geographically and across a wide range of devices from the simplistic to
the sophisticated – so everyone can use

brings us one step closer to furthering our goals while providing their
