TORONTO, Ont. Oct. 23, 2008 -- LG Electronics Canada unveiled its three newest cell phones
amongst
Canada's fashion forward at L'Oreal Fashion Week in Toronto yesterday.
LG's Fall Fashion collection which includes the LG Dare, the LG Reveal
and the LG Voyager made their runway debut during a technology-infused
Carlie Wong fashion show on the runway in Nathan Phillips Square.
The stylish collection of iconic mobile phones served as this
season's must-have accessory at an exclusive launch party and premier
of Carlie Wong's "Gangster meets Glamour" SS09 collection fashion show.
During the show, Carlie unveiled an exclusive line of accessories
designed using LG's latest handsets. LG Electronics Canada recently
announced its executive level sponsorship of L'Oreal Fashion Week,
which is the first time a consumer electronics company has paired with
the Fashion Design Council of Canada.
"My Spring/Summer 2009 collection is all about bringing quality
construction, attention to detail and luxurious pieces to the fashion
world, which is exactly what LG is bringing to technology," says
designer Carlie Wong. "I want the women who wear my clothes to feel
feminine, yet empowered and unstoppable. She's the Glamorous Gangster
and an LG cell phone is her hottest accessory."
Fortunately, Canadians won't have to wait until the spring/summer
to get their hands on these three new iconic LG phones. They will be
available at Bell and TELUS in the coming months.
- The LG Dare is a stylish, cutting edge phone that is built for
multi-media with music and mobile browsing in mind (available today
through TELUS). The LG Dare features a large 3-inch touch screen that
not only lets you easily view HTML web content but gives vibration
tactile feedback and recognizes handwriting. For photo enthusiasts the
3.2 mega pixel camera with face detection features lets you capture
moments of your life in high resolution and the user interface makes it
easy for you to share photos with those that are an important part of
your life.
- The LG Voyager (available soon through Bell and TELUS) has the
best of both worlds; the essence of high fashion meets high tech with a
2.8-inch touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard. For the stylish that
want to have the best mobile web and messaging experience in an
all-in-one device, there is no other choice than the LG Voyager.
- The LG Reveal (available soon from Bell) is sexy chic meets
striking originality with a bold and ground breaking design. With the
cute flip phone and full QWERTY keypad the LG Reveal lets mobile
texters reveal their news to others that they care about, instantly
wherever they are. The LG Reveal is the perfect accessory for those
that want a sophisticated look in either black or purple.
- THE LG Shimmer Kit (available soon from Bell) brings together the
purple LG Reveal with a fashion forward exclusive Swarovski Crystal
Bluetooth headset. Prepared to be dazzled by this chic combination. A
$5 donation from every purchase will be made to Fashion Cares.
"LG is unique because not only are we committed to using the best
technology available and creating the best cell phones in Canada, but
we insist that our products are also fashion forward," says Andrew
Barrett, Vice President of Marketing at LG Electronics. "Consumers will
get to experience our vision in both the functionality and look of the
phones we've launched this week and we are excited that our carrier
partners share our commitment to bringing fashionable choices to
Canadians."
In addition to launching these iconic phones, Saturday October 25th
will mark the inaugural LG Fashion Fusion, a grand finale to L'Oreal
Fashion Week. As part of the event, Grammy Award-winning and
international musical talent, Maroon 5 will rock the runway along with
select international and domestic designers. To ensure that life's
still good for those who didn't win tickets, consumers are invited to
visit www.LG.ca/fashion
for more information and to come down and watch the entire show through
the see-through wall of the event tent, and on an innovative outdoor
projection viewable by all. Can't make it, tune in! The event will also
be produced as a special presentation of the regular broadcast of In
Fashion and FashionTV on CTV, November 9, 2008 between 5:00pm and
6:00pm.
