Sunnyvale, Calif. Oct. 28, 2008 -- InnoPath Software, a leader in Mobile Device Management (MDM),
announced that Pantech has deployed the company’s leading OMA-DM client in phones at three new leading operators in three countries – AT&T, KDDI, and KTF. These deployments, across both GSM and CDMA networks, speak to the universality, performance, and interoperability of InnoPath’s client technology. Greater client availability facilitates MDM deployment, and MDM is one of the few technologies operators have at their disposal to drive costs out of their networks while maintaining customer satisfaction. This capability is even more top-of-mind in the current economic environment.
Leading Pantech handsets featuring InnoPath device management include AT&T’s easy to use C520 ‘Breeze’, the C610, a compact flip-phone and the C740 ‘Matrix’, a dual slider qwerty texting phone. In Korea, KTF’s unique U300K ‘Neon-Sign’ and in Japan KDDI’s compact slider W61PT and the simple, stylish W62PT also ship with InnoPath device management clients on board.
“Pantech’s growing relationship with InnoPath is evidence of our ability to deliver leading technology as well as provide operational support,” said Terry Hartsfield, InnoPath’s Vice President of Operations. “As wireless operators the world over embrace MDM as strategic for customer care, InnoPath’s flexible client and in-country capabilities will prove to be major differentiators.”
InnoPath’s server and client technology is coupled with its unique Port-to-Production (P2P) program for handset manufacturers. InnoPath works hand-in-hand with OEMs such as Pantech from initial client port, through testing until final acceptance by the wireless operator. P2P goals include accelerated time-to-market of new devices, management of costs, and ultimately heightened uptake of new high ARPU services and maximum customer satisfaction. In addition, the ROI for MDM-enabled customer care has been proven in a recent study by the analyst firm Stratecast which places the annual global operator exposure at over $25 billion, much of which may be saved through MDM. Pantech has a strong history of mobile phone innovation, having introduced the world’s first CDMA mobile phone in 1994. The company is now a leader in both CDMA and GSM devices, spanning both featurephones as well as Windows Mobile smartphones. The company supplies mobile phones to operators in North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
