NEW YORK CITY, NY / CORK, Ireland June 24, 2009 -- Fine Point
Technologies, a leading provider of
software tools for the management
of wireline broadband connections, today announced a definitive
agreement to acquire Pervenio Ltd, a creator of wireless
device detection and management solutions for mobile communications
providers. The transaction brings Fine Point superior mobile
capabilities complementary to its suite of wireline customer experience
management (CEM) offerings for global communications providers.
This
acquisition uniquely positions Fine Point to offer software tools for
both wireline and wireless network operators to help them profitably
manage the customer experience across a wide range of services and a
myriad of complex desktop, laptop, and handheld multi-media devices
– including tools for automatic activation, independent repair, customer
care and optimization of network connections.
Based in Cork,
Ireland, Pervenio is a mobile device management (MDM)
company to provide mobile service providers with an instantaneous,
comprehensive picture of all wireless devices on the network, enabling
them to automatically connect users to the providers’ network services,
validate the legitimacy of every device on the network, react to
customer handset changes, and even unlock additional revenue through
real-time access to marketing analytics.
Pervenio’s system
automatically recognizes more than 20,000 individual mobile handset
models from the world’s leading mobile device manufacturers, including
all current GSM handset models used around the globe.
Commenting
on the acquisition, Fine Point CEO and Chairman Todd Ruelle said, “For
the world’s mobile and wireline operators, our combined team offers a
deep understanding of the challenges faced in rolling out increasingly
sophisticated devices and services to the global market.
“In
addition to focusing on organic growth through our core products, the
addition of Pervenio is consistent with our strategy to leverage Fine
Point’s strong financial performance to acquire complementary mobile
technology companies,” Ruelle said.
Ian Deakin, Pervenio’s CEO
and founder said, “As well as complementary technology, our companies
share a commitment to superior customer experience. In the converging
mobile-broadband world, delivering a superior user experience is
absolutely essential to winning and retaining customers at a reasonable
cost.” Deakin will become Fine Point’s new chief technology officer,
with oversight for the full suite of Fine Point’s products and services.
Pervenio
will become a wholly-owned subsidiary, named Fine Point Technologies
Ireland, with operations in Cork, Ireland. The transaction is expected
to close on June 30, 2009.
