London, UK June 23, 2009 -- Orange today announced a refresh
of its consumer and business
connected laptop offerings, in a move
designed to offer UK customers greater choice, making it even easier
for them to get online and access the content they want.
“Whether at home, at work, or on the road, people need the right
tools to stay in touch. Our new laptop range is designed to reflect the
way individuals work and live – giving them the ability to send emails,
surf the web or access multimedia applications across the UK’s largest
and most reliable integrated 2/3G mobile broadband network¹”, commented
François Mahieu, Director of Devices at Orange.
Business
Business customers now have even greater flexibility and choice,
allowing them to select from a range of manufacturers including
HP, Toshiba and ASUS. Priced between £30 to £45 per month (inc. VAT),
users are able to pick from laptops with embedded SIM cards or have a
separate dongle to enable mobile internet access. Businesses that
choose the HP laptops can pay part or all of the cost upfront, or
throughout the course of their contract; helping them to better manage
their IT spend.
Business customers will also benefit from an unlimited UK data
allowance², a 150 text message bundle for use with the laptop, and
monthly roaming add-on data bundles, which let people keep in touch
when abroad without having to worry about their bill.
Customers can also choose a payment method to best suit their needs,
helping them stay in tighter control of their finances. The broad range
of models (available through Telesales or from your Orange Business
Sales team) makes it easy to choose a laptop for every user’s needs and
includes the:
- ASUS Eee PC 1000H GO with embedded SIM card
- Compaq Mini 110 with Huawei E160 dongle
- Toshiba L300 with Huawei E160 dongle
- HP 4515s with ZTE MF636 dongle
- HP 6735b with embedded SIM card
Consumer
Orange is also adding the latest netbook from Samsung, the N310, to
its consumer connected range for a limited time only. Available from
the Orange online store while stocks last, the uniquely designed N310
comes equipped with a 10.2” screen, integrated webcam and weighs in at
just 1.23kg. Starting from £24.47 per month on a 24 month contract with
a one off charge of £99, the N310 is available for purchase
immediately.
The Samsung N310 is being introduced alongside changes to Orange's
consumer laptop price plans. The new plans will allow customers the
freedom to choose between a 1GB, 3GB or 5GB mobile data allowance as
well as an 18 or 24 month contract length, so they can choose a package
