BURLINGTON, Mass. June 25, 2009 -- Airwide Solutions, a leading provider of
next generation
mobile messaging infrastructure, applications and
solutions, today announced the expansion of its Solution Partner Program to
further promote industry collaboration and co-development of pioneering
value-added applications and services. With this announcement, the program
becomes even more tightly integrated with Airwide's recently-announced Open
Services Framework, marking the next phase of Airwide's commitment to
offering mobile operators open, best-of-breed solutions combined with
flexible,
non-disruptive deployment that enable monetization of their underlying
network assets. In related news, Airwide also today appointed Tom
Wunderlich as vice president of business development to oversee the
expansion and growth of the program's Solution Partnerships.
Airwide's Solution Partner ecosystem will work with operators to help them
more rapidly roll out and enhance applications and services using unique
network capabilities such as location, presence, authentication and
charging and taking advantage of existing communications infrastructure
like messaging and browsing. The expanded program will offer operators
access to a broad range of solutions from partners in areas of high
interest including: personalization, security, mobile financial services,
mobile marketing and advertising, content, social networking and
interactive media. These enhanced solutions will in turn help operators to
drive messaging revenue, bundles and traffic and ultimately reduce customer
churn.
By joining the Airwide program, Solution Partners will now have expanded
access to a set of open APIs, development tools and a better understanding
of advanced applications and technology roadmaps, as well as a shared
vision for how these applications and technologies can be integrated into
new and existing telecom environments. They will also have a dedicated team
offering them technical assistance and advice. The program will offer
enhanced joint marketing promotion and coordinated go-to-market/selling
activities and enable select companies to pre-certify their solutions with
Airwide products. Solution Partners are members of Airwide's Global
Alliance Network which has more than 15 members and has helped more than 80
operators worldwide.
Benefits for Solution Partners and Operators Alike
Solution Partners joining Airwide's enhanced program will benefit from
pre-integration, co-development and verification against one of the
industry's leading mobile messaging infrastructures, including the recently
announced Service Innovation Framework for the rapid delivery of enhanced
mobile services. Solution Partners' services and applications will benefit
from integration with other services, enhanced capabilities, optimization
for multi-channel messaging and internet access, sophisticated security and
high-performance delivery.
"The rise of mobile applications and services is fundamentally changing the
mobile industry, and an ecosystem that addresses the needs of operators and
developers in capturing this opportunity has been missing," said Jay
Seaton, CMO of Airwide Solutions. "Traditional partner programs that are
nothing more than a collection of companies in the mobile sector do not
provide meaningful value. Working together, Airwide and our Solution
Partners can provide meaningful value to mobile operators, service and
application developers and subscribers, enabling mobile operators and
developers to provide differentiated offerings amidst the frenzy of mobile
applications."
As a member of the Airwide Solution Partner network, Cloudmark is positive
about the program: "Cloudmark and Airwide have been collaborating on
mobile security solutions for more than two years," said Jacinta Tobin,
senior vice president of business development and worldwide sales at
Cloudmark. "As consumer adoption of smartphones and next generation mobile
applications continues to increase, there is a pressing need to provide
comprehensive tools that mobile operators need to protect themselves
against messaging attacks and fraud perpetrated via Short Message Service
(SMS) and multimedia messaging service (MMS)."
About the Open Services Framework
Airwide's Open Services Framework represents the latest phase of the
evolution and decomposition of monolithic messaging infrastructures set out
in Mobile Messaging 2.0. This framework allows operators to rapidly enable
an entire ecosystem of services that are enhanced with unique assets
including location, device capabilities, user preferences, numerous
communication channels, the billing relationship and others. At the same
time, the Open Services Framework allows operators to optimize these
services to reduce costs, meet the most discriminating user experience
demands, and support rapidly growing performance requirements.
