BURLINGTON, Mass. June 25, 2009 -- Airwide® Solutions, a leading provider
of next-generation
mobile messaging infrastructure and applications, today
announced it has hired industry veteran Tom Wunderlich as vice president of
business development. In this role, Wunderlich will draw upon more than 20
years of experience in business development to formulate and implement
Solution Partner initiatives designed to meet Airwide's strategic goals.
As part of Wunderlich's responsibility for overseeing the expanded Airwide
Alliance Network Program, also announced today, he will be responsible for
establishing technology and business partnerships that extend Airwide's
solution and product portfolio and enable new business opportunities and
channels for Airwide.
Prior to joining Airwide, Wunderlich spent seven years at Red Hat where he
was responsible for developing the strategy and programs to drive the
adoption of Red Hat software across the telecommunications industry. Prior
to that, Wunderlich was Managing Director of EMEA for ArsDigita, a web
content management and collaboration software company acquired by Red Hat
in 2001. He earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a BS
in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.
"This is an exciting time in Airwide's development as a global
organization. As we continue to extend our role in services enhancement
and innovation, we expect Tom's proven track record in business development
to be a great addition to our team," said Kevin Wood, CEO of Airwide
Solutions. "With mobile applications and services fundamentally changing
the mobile industry, Airwide is again pioneering services innovation with
our Open Services Framework, designed to help operators more fully
participate in the applications phenomenon. With mobile operators,
developers and technology providers in every region seeking to participate
in the emerging applications ecosystem, we expect Tom to play a key role in
building and executing strategic programs and initiatives worldwide."
Wunderlich is looking forward to the challenge. "Airwide's evolving and
expanding role in the services arena, including functionality for enhancing
the App Store phenomenon and enabling operators to expand the role they can
play places the company at the epicenter of one of the most exciting
developments in the mobile industry and positions it for exponential growth
and success," he said. "I enthusiastically welcome the opportunity to lead
and further develop Airwide's Alliance Network Program in the drive for
continued growth and success."
