Paris, France Oct. 1, 2009 -– Alcatel-Lucent announces today that Amr El Leithy is joining the MEA
management team and
will be appointed MEA President on January 1, 2010, succeeding Vincenzo
Nesci.
After this date, Vincenzo will be appointed as Honorary President of MEA,
based in Cairo, in order to assist Amr in the transition.
Amr brings extensive experience at IBM in the Middle-East, Africa and
Europe. During his career with IBM, Amr has held leading sales and management
responsibilities, in his role as the IBM Sales, Marketing, &
Channels Executive for MEA and also as the Regional General Manager for IBM
North & West Africa. Beyond this, Amr has wide international experience
also outside the Middle East, having held long assignments in IBM headquarters
in Paris, where he held leading positions in the IBM Emerging Market region and
also for IBM South & West Europe.
