VANCOUVER, BC / TEL AVIV, Israel Oct. 1,
2009 -- Wavefront, the community-based
commercialization
centre for
British Columbia's 1,000 wireless and new media development companies, and Perfecto
Mobile, a leading provider of remote access and automated testing
solutions for mobile devices, have jointly launched a service that will
enable developers to remotely test their applications on Wavefront's
library of mobile handsets connected to Canadian wireless networks.
"Testing applications on different handsets and via different
carrier networks is an essential step before commercial deployment. Our
partnership with Perfecto Mobile provides developers with a cost
effective and quick solution for testing their applications before
launch into the Canadian market," said James Maynard, President of
Wavefront.
"We are pleased to partner with Wavefront to make Canadian handsets
and networks available to the global community of mobile developers and
content providers, and to offer B.C. developers access to the growing
Perfecto Mobile network of remote devices," said Eran Yaniv, CEO of
Perfecto Mobile.
Wavefront's testing lab is equipped with the specialized Perfecto
Mobile system, enabling web access to Wavefront's handsets. The
Perfecto Mobile system provides a secure web-based user-interface
through which users from all over the world can test their applications
using the handsets' full capabilities including the keys, touch-screen,
and QWERTY keyboard as well as watch the handset's screen and listen to
its audio.
Through its partnership with Wavefront, Perfecto Mobile adds
Canada's carrier networks Bell, Telus and Rogers to a growing list of
networks which includes already the major U.K., U.S. and Israeli
operators.
Furthermore, by adding Wavefront's handset library to Perfecto
Mobile's service, developers can now access various Canadian handset
models, such as Apple iPhone, HTC Android, Windows Mobile, Blackberry,
LG, Motorola, Nokia, Palm, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson.
"In the past, application testing across handsets and carrier
networks was not only time consuming, but very costly," said Igor
Faletski, President of Mobify, a B.C. developer and member of the
Wavefront community. "Perfecto Mobile's web-based interface raises the
bar for remote device testing, providing an efficient, accessible
service that's certain to be a big hit with the mobile developer
community."
Wireless application developers are able to access the remote testing service from Wavefront's website at www.wavefrontac.com/perfectomobile, and a complimentary 10-hour trial service is available for new users.
